the cove

i watched a life changing documentary last night called 'the cove'. it documents the work of activists against the slaughtering of dolphins mainly in taiji, japan. there are no words to describe the horror, sadness, injustice, every negative word possible basically, of what i saw depicted in this film. i'm aware of the negative criticism that the film had received following it's release in 2009 towards the japanese people and culture but you can only be empathetic to a certain point. truth be told that most of japan were unaware of the atrocities happening in taiji; i just can't get over the fact that this business might still be continuing. this is such a touchy subject because there are so many parts of the story but i know one thing for sure, the fisherman and whaling industry responsible for these horrific acts are 100% accountable for their actions and there are no justifications for it at all. i urge you to watch this documentary and make your own judgements. even if the information and portrayal involving this fishing industry are not entirely accurate, it definitely educated me about the possible issues present today involving these mammals.
